Hi. I was trying to install a Turion CPU on my Aces Aspire 1524 notebook (originally equipped with an Athlon 64, which becomes way too hot during normal operation).

Unfortunately, my Turion MT30 won't be detected, so that the system won't boot (the screen stays black).

BIOS upgrades from Acer won't help, but maybe the issue could be solved with some hack. Any idea?

Thank you in advance.

(The notebook uses a Phoenix bios).
