Don't ask how to over-clock.

:!:

I would like to upgrade the CPU now I've flashed the BIOS on this board to the latest version, which I downloaded from the PC Chips .com website. Am I limited to 550 MHz maximum CPU speed (my current processor (CPU) is a miserable 500 MHz AMD)?

Another thing: I'm using PC133 memory in this motherboard and it seems fine, but should I be using PC100 memory instead?

I've never installed or upgraded a CPU before!

Thanks in advance for >>ANY<< help.

Socket 7 Motherboards were limited to 550Mhz MAX for CPU. Mainly because there were no faster processors manufactured.

I would just overclock the 500Mhz version that you have.

Not really 550 max... When you set you k6-2 multiplier at 2, it automaticaly maps to 6, so when using a 100mhzx6 = 600 mhz... When youre lucky, your k6-2 will pull it off, but not a big chance...

about the memory thing, 100 mhz would do just fine, but when raising the bus speed above 100 mhz, use 133 mhz memory to get a little more freedom in raising your buss speed
