Hallo

I have a QDI legend 6 mobo, a slocket and a Celeron 733 Mhz (FSB 66 Mhz - Coppermine).

I successfully have modified the slocket so that it can support the Celeron.
I even updated the BIOS with the appropriate CPU Microcode and flashed it succesfully....

But ... although at power on it beeps and I see the very first line of the BIOS version, the PC freezes and stops responding.

There is no memory counting, no name of the CPU....instead of the name I have this : ''CPU &20"

Any ideas????

P.S. sorry about my english

It seems patching the Bios with the Microcode failed or your boars is not really capable of feeding the low voltage .
If setting the Slocket to 1.8V does not work either visit www.rom.by and try this patcher ( at your own risk)

Tried the latest Beta-Bios QDI offers ?

Well I am pretty sure that the Microcode update was successful because I checked CPUCODE.BIN with a HEX editor and it seemed all right.

I also measured the voltage and I found that it is correct.

The lastest Beta-Bios of QDI was also checked with CBROM and there
isn't any microcode for my Celeron COPPERMINE (CPUID 0686)

Since the PC boots until a point ,I believe that there might be a problem
in the BIOS 's CPU identifing routines........

If the last is true , I don't have any idea to deal with it........
:?

I want to add something: there is also a blinking cursor, but I cant type anything......

Try this patcher !!

Our mods sometimes use it to patch for bigger HDD and it usually works fine with adding CPU support
