Microcode needed for XP 2900+. I know what most of you think, never heard of this processor before. Neither have I. But it does exist. Only as an OEM. Not boxed. Anyway, was wondering if anyone has the microcode for this processor. I can't edit my own bios and I have no idea how to extract/insert a cpu microcode. I have found one person that could insert the code for me if I get it. Sooo, does anyone have this code?
Thanks,
Don

As a non-standard CPU-rating your board will show either unknown Athlon XP or display a different rating. As long as the CPU core (Barton AFAIK) is supported by your Bios there should be no problem at all.
My board sees the cpu as XP 2600, but its running at its full speed. Its running at 2.08ghz 400mhz fsb. I personally would like my board to see the cpu for what it really is. Thats a XP 2900+. I know, its just a cosmetic thing.
I'll figure it out someday.

More than 100,000 BIOS strings in my database just now!
