Try to remove all partitions with Fdisk and create a new primary partition with 30 GB. Issue stays the same?

Chip is not supported by Uniflash 1.40, see http://web.archive.org/web/200806100617 ... rdware.htm
They seem to have taken over Uniflash development:

Two Bios version with this string, one of them may work, the other not.
That's why we need the info shown in the top left of the screen (where the Bios string is shown at the bottom).

No original Bios without proper Board identification. The only way to get this is via the additional info shown on the given place.

On the top left of the Start screen (with memory test + HDD detection) below the Award Bios logo, what message is shown there?
A PT-2000 should have a combination of numbers with C or KC, PT-2003 with either E, I, DE or DI.
-> E/I could be either revision specific or for different types of Flashroms

Re: Tyan Tempest i5000px cpu support request
Make sure the mainboard voltage regulators are properly cooled, if they are not designed for the 45nm CPU they will be strained a lot, producing excessive heat.
That's usually the main reason for non-support of newer CPU, the regulators were not designed for the high Ampere load on them.

Re: bios mp071b
The Bios-ID matches the ID from your mainboard, no real idea why your flasher complains a wrong ID. Probably it's just too new for this very old board. http://www.wimsbios.com/awardflasher.jsp Please try awdflash version 6.6 or an early version 7.x. Please absolutely make sure your Floppy disk is er...

You can't use a Bios from a board with the same chipset - thats a 1:1000 chance to succeed.

Re: QDI KinetiZ E7
The Bios seems to have an autodetect feature for the southbridge chipset installed on your board and changes it's ID-code accordingly. VT82C686A is the older one and VT82C686B is the newer one.

Re: Asus TX97-E ACPI BIOS with HDD patch needed
Either a hardware problem, a missed setting in Bios or the write protect jumper in wrong position (check for an onboard printing of the jumper setting, sometimes manual is wrong or it was changed in a motherboard revision).

Re: Asus TX97-E ACPI BIOS with HDD patch needed
I'll look for an older Aflash version, please also look for a write protection setting in Bios. I assume the file in the attached .zip is not modified to support larger HDD but Edwin is looking into it. What type of flashrom do you have? Winbond/SST/Atmel or MXIC were common manufacturers in these d...

For this old board series you need the Asus Flasher Aflash.
