Hi,
I have ECS P6SEP-Me board. sep37b.zip is original file and 1000.zip is modified file by someone which I not know. They have modify Processor string fix at 1000Mhz but processor on board is 667Mhz. I also but some other processors but all the time it show speed 1000Mhz so I try to check that how someone do it but it not open by modbin6 or modbin77. also check all version of cbrom for epa extract but not any version work. Plz check these files and tell me that how can I fix cpu freq. and extract epa from these files? I have also try Hex Workshop but it is out of my mind because I am not professional programmer. I also try DMIScope but it not work because these bios is only support DMI version 2.2 but latest is DMI 2.3 which not supported by it, did it possible to patched it for support DMI version 2.3?. Links are following:

Modified file = http://www.geocities.com/wsw243/bios/1000.zip
Original file = http://www.geocities.com/wsw243/bios/sep37b.zip

Kind regards,

Vicky

Do you have a Celeron CPU or a Pentium3 ?
For Celeron your FSB should be set at 66MHz and for Pentium3 at 100MHz or 133MHz depending on version .

What is written onto your CPU ?

I have Pentium3 CPU but on CPU fake sticker is showing 1000/256/133 but when put away sticker below original sticker appear as 667/256/133
Motherboard is 100Mhz bus so when I flashed original bios than freq. was 500Mhz because bus is 100Mhz so I flash patched bios again and freq. become 1000Mhz again but dxdiag.exe show freq. 500Mhz. I have also try celeron but freq. still remain 1000Mhz so it mean that it is fixed on bios. My cpu work at 500Mhz not overclocked to 1000Mhz but freq. is appear 1000Mhz  .

It's possible the Bios was faked in the same way as your CPU thus showing 1000Mhz everytime on boot regardless of CPU installed .
The original Bios shows the real operating frequency and is fully correct :
Your P3-667 is designed to run with 133Mhz FSB ending up with 667MHz .
Due to fixed 5.x multiplier it ends up with 500MHz using 100MHz FSB and even less using 66MHz FSB

I know all which you are saying. My main quetion is that how can I fix cpu freq. of other board? I want to patched bios to display freq. of my choice so I can fool other about freq. . I have try DMIScope but it is required DMI Version 2.3 and I have 2.2, so I asked that how can I patched bios to support DMI 2.3 so it will easy for me to display freq. of my choice. If you know other tool that can change freq. easly of DMI 2.2 tell me about it.

That would require a deep hack to modify the CPU table AFAIK

How do you know sep37b was the original file that was modified?

Can't say for sure it really was the hacked version, but OK.

You'd have to de-complie the thing and look at what was done to the CPU tables to make them display the 1000MHz text for all processors.

As far as how to do that, you're on your own...

I am already saying that I am not Professional programmer so tell me that how can I modify CPU table just type 1000Mhz instead of fully programmed. I tried DMIScope on AOpen MX36LE and DMIScope was say that it has modified but when I reboot pc and check but it was not modified. :(
