Hi!

A person said to me that limitations in detecting the right hdd size is an IDE-interface problem and not a BIOS problem, is he right ? If it was true I suppose that BIOS updates wouldn't help couse the problem is in the hardware (IDE-interface in the southbridge), so I think he is wrong.

If he is true, are all hdd detecting problems a limitation in the IDE-interface or only >504MB (EIDE) ? URL:s are appreciated, I would like to read some more about the IDE-interface! :-)

Sincerly,

With recent BIOS, you can use a 120GB drive on old ISA IDE controller - it's only software (BIOS) limitation.
