For some reason there is a lot of conversation on the web about fugutech, but exactly where do I find an update for the above bios.
I have on old clone, which refuses to recognize a CD-ROM drive in the secondary Master position. I can boot up with a Win98SE boot disk, and it sets it up, but will not read the disk. Can anyone give me any help.

http://wims.rainbow-software.org/. That BIOS can boot from CD-ROM and supports HDDs up to 128GB.
Many of these boards were sold with a non-flashable PROM chip - if this is your case, you need to replace the chip with a Flash ROM - there are some places (like www.badflash.com) where you can order a preflashed chip.

What a coincidence...so was mine!!
Mine was the Amptron version of the M507 (PM7600), and I used what they provided at their website.

I had 4 of these boards.
Two worked but crashed at DMA or PCI BusMaster access. Both had the same CPU pin shorted with a nearby pin. Fixed that on both. One had no BIOS - so I got a chip and modified a beta BIOS (it's now at http://wims.rainbow-software.org/). Then sold both boards (the other had a non-flashable PROM with crappy BIOS - no ISA PnP, no CD-ROM booting).
One of the board has burned chipset (gets VERY hot after some minutes) and does not work at all.
The last one is a mystery - does not work but I could not find why.
