no post , no beep

ive just built new pc. but only occasionaly do i see the post screen.although i can always access setup by pressing delete,also it doesnt beep at all,but pc works fine when i get to desktop. pc speaker is working ok. can any one help '

I have a monitor which behaves that way. At certain low resolutions and refresh rates, the screen stays black, but as soon as Windows loads, everything works just fine. In my case, it's a monitor defect.
