Hi,
when I install a new 120Mb harddisk, my computer hangs at bios-startup, exactly when it want to give an overwiev of the installed drives an interfaces, exactly when it want to show the size of the new hd.

In the bios setup program, menue hdd auto-detection, I can select the harddisk, it is recognized with the correct size (=122).

I use the Motherboard P6SEP-Me Rev. 1.3a from Elitegroup with a Socket 370 and Award Bios:

Bios Date: 05/25/00
Award Bios found: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
Award ID-String: 05/25/2000-SiS-620-P6SEP-MEC-00
Board/BIOS-Version: P6SEP-Me Ver 3.5 05/25/2000
Chipset: SiS 620

Do you know, which max. harddisk size is supported by my motherboard? (A 40Gb hd seems to work).
I cannot find this information for this board-version (1.3a) on Elitegroups website, only for version 2.2. (I think I should not use a update for Rev. 2.2!)
Is there any bios-update available (now I use ver 3.5), and which hd would be supported by this update?

thanx for help

ps: I found a jumper on the harddisk "Cap Limit", would mean capacity limit, an when I plug in this jumper, the capacity of the hd has only 33Gb, and the bios startup doesn't hang. But how can I use the rest in windows XP?
