Hallo everyone,
is there any chance to make my old ASUS board detect this 160 GB HDD? What is the last BIOS-UPDATE ?

Nope. You'll need an add-on card.

If the 160GB HDD is not used to boot any OS then leave the port the hdd is connected to at none (AKA no HDD connected) and let your OS (W2K/XP with latest servicepacks) detect your HDD - might work or not
At least an Add-on controller is better as it's ways faster than OnBoard IDE,too
