Hello folks!
Please could someone help me with my new harddrive. I got a patched Bios for the Abit BX 20 board already. And my harddrive is connected via a raid contoller. It is properly recognized (Windows XP shows me 60 GB).
The problem is, sometimes my computer is stoned when accessing certain files on the drive. I can't even reset via keyboard in Windows XP!
I believe that Bios is not as good as assumed.
What do you mean? I would very appreciate your help.
Greetings from Erlangen

There's no problem in the BIOS. If you have the drive connected through PCI card, there might be problem with the card's BIOS and/or drivers or in Windows XP itself.

occurs very unpredictable. Not a certain file, not a certain, program nor directory.
I think its the Raid controller (or the power supply - don't know the word in English - is this right?). I have now removed it and system is running fine. The harddrive seems ok.
But many thanx for your replies. I will watch my system now and post if crash comes

ok, I will test memory. I have now changed my harddisk to the old one, everything works fine (like many months before until I changed the harddisk).
Can it be the memory nevertheless? or is it too little power? 230 Watts for PIII 500 with 2 CD-Roms.
