Old Compaq Presario. It used to have a small 850Mb h/d and run win95.
I want to put in a larger h/d .. only about 6Gb. but now it wont see the h/d and wont even boot from floppy, cant get to the A: prompt.
Think maybe a new bios is needed. Help please.

Start by visiting the Compaq website and downloading the latest firmware /Rompaq for your machine.
Flash your BIOS at your own risk.

Yes ... Thanks, I have been to all of the sites that I cn think of. The only reference that I have found that even acknowledges the existence of a Presario 7106 is Google.
It is an old, 486 DX machine. 8Mb of memory and I think, running at 100mHz.

We can stop the thread here, I've seen at motherboards.org you have used overlay software to solve the problem.

Hmm thats odd, because in your thread at motherboards.org I posted the QRG for the 7106. Sometimes it helps to keep track of what you post and where you post.
