Hi,
My HP pc will not recognise my new Seagate ST380021A. The pc locks up when I auto detect the HD.
The HD works fine if I set the jumpers on the HD to limit to 32Gb.
I downloaded the above BIOS from HP. This has not fixed the problem.
Can anyone help me access the whole disk???
Thanks
Alan

Weird. I have that board listed as the Mitac 6110ZU/VA D7600-60004. Used in Brio BA600, Brio BAX, Vectra VEi8. Where did you get the ID from? Bios string matches BTW.

Lets be sure what we are dealing with here first. Not totally sure if that mobocop case was a "quirk" in the system or not at this point.NickS wrote:Maybe we should change the name of the patched BIOS ?
Things at HP are so goofed up right now, its hard to say what info is correct....
That quote was taken from evasive's/edwin's HP page.....Just when I thought it was going to be easy...
I need to find the names to some model numbers and I need to find out what the difference is between two different names for the same board (MS-6367 vs. Mambo/Samba to name one). And I just found out HP in its inexplicable wisdom has decided to use more than one board in the same system (441.se with the MS-6367 and P4S-LA).
going to have to research this a bit more....

Hi,
I have tried using the bios upgrade provided at http://wims.rainbow-software.org for Vectra vei8. I used Award Flasher 8.12 to do the upgrading, and prior to the upgrade my bios type was Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG and the OEM sign-on was HW.27.10(QHW.10.01) Since upgrading this has now changed to HW.27.10(QHW.10.01) patched for 128GB HDD by Wim's team.
So far so good
The only problem is that when I plug in my new 80GB drive as secondary master and power up the machine - nothing. Still not recognised. I have tried setting cyliders and heads etc. manually in the BIOS with still no result.
Does anyone have any tips as to where I might have gone wrong.
Did I first need to get the most recent update from the manufacturers site, or is there something else simple I might have missed?

Thanks for your response. The good news (well for me anyway) is that after a bit of frigging around with jumpers I got it to work.
Thanks to all concerned with providing this page and the patches. It's an outstanding resource!
Cheers
Tony
