80GB: Chaintech 6ssa2

Hi,

I wanna use a 80 GB Maxtor HDD with my Chaintech 6ssa2 MB. My bios string is
04/26/1999-SiS-5600-8661-2A6ILC39C-00

I tried the patched bios from http://wims.rainbow-software.org but it seems to work only with max of 64 GB.

With the patched bios the auto-detect. hangs and during startup the bios table only shows "sec. master, UDMA 5,". The size cannot be recognized and that's the end

Any advices, hints

Thanks very much Edwin for your effort. I flashed the patched Rev. C bios into my system and everything works fine.

BTW the board is used in a Compaq Presario 5547, so if anyone else runs into my problem she hopefully will 'keyword search' until this message
