Hello,
I have a motherboard Abit ah6, chipset 440 LX, bought in 98, I'd like to install a second hd, 40 or 20 Gb, I'm not sure my Award bios wuold recognize it...I looked up in Abit's web site but there are no dowlodable upgrade files for my motherboard!
Can anybody help ?
Thanks a lot!
does my bios support 40Gb hd?
Abit has upgrades. The latest are from 2000.

Abit LX6

Bios Extension v.1.0A

I have a 40Gb HD as secondary slave (working in linux/windows), though this HD isn't detected by the BIOS (BIOS hangs when auto-detecting)
I want to use it as primary master and boot from it.
Any idea if BIOS update LX6CLY would help?? (or something else)

Obviousely the bios will not support it and the OEM won't fix it. So, either use drive overlay software or put a addin EDIE card.
