I have an IBM BIOS chip from an older 486 system and need a BIOS update for it to recognize my 8.4 gb hard drive.....
The chip says:
P/N 52G2974
IBM CORP. 1993
Any suggestions will help!!!!!!!!!!

I had a similar problem years ago with a WD 2.1 GB drive in a 486sx system, I went to the drive manufactures web site and download this program they had there and it tricked the bios and allowed the drive to work in my PC
I think the program was Called EZ Drive or something like that.
You may want to give that a shot
