Hi,
I have an old Siemens Fujitsu laptop (lifebook E series) with Phoenix BIOS 4.0 Release 6.0 bios. I only have one DVD as DVD+R and apparrenlty my DVD drive only recogniyes DVD-Rs. I have however an external DVD drive that I would like to use instead to boot from so that I can get a new OS installed. However, this drive does not show up in the boot sequence, after booting from hard disk, I can see the drive and use it with no problem.
Is there any possibility to let this DVD drive (LG super multi DVD/CD RW) show up in my BIOS?
Thanks for your help
Pelusa
Actually I saw using the BIOS update scan, that my BIOS version is the above mentioned, but when I restart I see version 2.04 Which one is now installed and how could I change it to the newest version?
External CD/DVD drive not recognized in boot sequence

Phoenix 4 Release 6 is probably the Core Bios version number, 2.04 seems to be the numbering used by FSC.
