Hello.

I just bought a new BIOS for my HPPaviliona170.no from esupport.com.

I received a file from esupport, flashed it the computer did not boot after that.

Hotflashed my chip to the origianl BIOS in another mainboard, so now it works again.

Later on I tried to flash again with the same results and more hotflashes needed.

Now I found this forum, and I'm wondering if any of you guys here can shed some more lights to why the BIOS i received doesn't work??

The main reason for me to upgrade is that I would like to try some overclocking, besides from that the geek factor ;)

Here is the dump i got from the program esupport wanted me to run.

Also, I've seen that if you open a BIOS BIN file in eg. winrar it will open up and show another file inside. Any specs. on this format?? SHould I decompress the BIN file and flash again with the file inside???

Regards

It's not the first time an Esupport Bios does not want to run - maybe they sent you a Bios designed for a Retail MSI version of your board but you have an OEM-version whick may have a different board revision.
You are stuck to HP Bios. You won't get OC capabilities with just a new Bios.
