Hi.. my first post here so sorry if this has been addressed before but I can't see this particular problem listed!
I have Award Bios v6.00PG installed on a new Gigabyte GA-945GCM(X)-S2 Motherboard.
When I reboot the PC it starts the POST and emits a single (OK) beep, but then hangs for anything up to 10 minutes once it's printed "memory" on the screen dialogue.
When it does boot all is fine but it's just frustrating having to wait so long every time it boots and I'm sure there must be a fix for this!
Any ideas guys?
Boot hangs at "memory" for up to 10 minutes

Sounds like a drive detection issue, you are using the latest bios for this board and you have checked for the latest firmware for all your optical drives?

Thanks Edwin... I'll check as could well be the problem. I've actually got a new SATA drive to install to replace the old IDE drive, so that in itself should fix it. What's the best software to 'clone' contents (inc boot partition etc) of the old to new drive in your opinion?
Cheers
