Yes its an emachines PC and no they are not interested in helpin me at all!! i told them i dont want their messed about bios with their branded start up screen coming on as soon as u switch on pc!! and they have locked out everything in the bios so i cant even attempt to overclock my sempron 3100+. Ran the CPU-Z utility and it says my board is gateway but i've opened her up and its a foxconn 6100k8mb*had piccy on screen while opened up* exactly the same??!! so now im stumped :x ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED THNX

PS my pc does not have a floppy a:\ drive installed so i will need to flash bios from CD rom can this be done?? i have flashed before successsfully on an old pc using the floppy method with no probs. unsure how i can get round this. i have managed i think to get the correct bin file from FOXCONN for my board and the flash utility which i've put on cd rom but i now need to boot up to dos prompt only how can this be done. in past i made a bootable floppy through windows but how can u do same with cd rom???

thnx for reply kuriaki, yes i know its newer but i'd rather roll back maybe to an older version hoping i will then be able to change a few settings in the bios so i can get a bit more out of my processor speed wise its running stock and i know for a fact the sempron's can be clocked to 2.5ghz no prob so this is where i trying to go with this. Would u not recommend me doing so then kuriaki?? Many thnx in advance :)

Most of Foxconn motherboards are for the OEM market. Every vendor has his own BIOS. I'm not sure if both (retail and OEM) BIOS versions are compatibles.
