I have an AMD 1100 mhz chip in my system. Tried to put in a an AMD Athlon XP 1800 mhz but the system didnt recognize it. I tried to flash the bios and I keep getting the same error: 'Program File's part number doesn't match your system' What do i do? The board is a MATSONIC. It also says: unknown flash type but i got the bios flash type and the bios update from the matsonic website based on my board MS8127.

BIOS ID: MS8127CC
BIOS Date: 01/03/01
BIOS Signon: 01/03/2001 8363-686-MS8127CC-00
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG

So I need some help. Thanks.

Don't worry. Their BIOS ID string has changed. Now the ID string carries the ECS name for the board.

BIOS Version : Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
BIOS Info : 07/19/2001-8363-686-K7VZAC-00
BIOS Message : MS8127C 07/19/2001
BIOS ID : K7VZA

Just force-flash it and you'll be just fine.

Read this:
http://www.bioscentral.com/misc/biosfla ... .htm#three

I just do hope you actually "read" something this time

Lalwani, remember 3 things:

1. /PY will usually force a flash :)
2. three strikes and you're out.... 2 already.... 8O
3. be prepared for our "Ban Stick" mod....

Just for Info :
Is your Board the relabeled K7VZA Rev 1.x based on KT-133 oder based on the Rev 3.x with KT-133A ?

It should be possible to use the ECS upgrades

Having read your recently "locked" thread, the sole advice I can give you now is to try a more universal flasher, like the one at Gigabyte's site: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw (support section). It includes a menu where you can bypass the BIOS ID string identification. But be very careful!

Or UniFlash. But be even more careful.
