Hi,
I just got a Compaq Presario 4540 from a friend (for free, so I guess I shouldn't complain :) and I would like some changes, like changing the logo and maybe some other things (try to add support for another CPU and a bigger harddisk).
I've read most articles in the advanced section here, but since this BIOS is using Phoenix, all AWARD/AMI utils and tips/tricks are 'worthless'!
Does anyone have more info about Phoenix utils and stuff like that, or am I stuck with what I have?
Thanks!
P.S. Does anyone know if it's possible to add the NCR/Symbios/LSI SCSI BIOS to this machine for my 53C810, or is that a no-go as well...? :(
Help with Compaq Presario 4540 BIOS (Phoenix)
The only thing you can do is download the latest available BIOS from Compaq (if any...).
Patched and tested BIOSes are at http://wims.rainbow-software.org
UniFlash - Flash anything anywhere

Thanks. Yeah, I downloaded the latest BIOS from Compaq. I was just hoping to do some Phoenix BIOS hacking... too bad.
Looks like there's no tech info about those BIOSes floating around and their website doesn't have anything useful either

Have a look at the article I've written in this Discussion Board under:
