how to update this bios / mobo :confused:

hi there

i have an old apollo pro but the bios-id string isn't right
i have seen many site's and stuf but can anyone help me out
with this one ?

its a old pc to play games for my little brother (14 years)

bios update for better configurations if it is possible

PcPartner VIA Apollo Pro with SMC IO
could be VIM816D or VIB862D or VIB861S or VIM863S. depends on the board markings (something like 35-88MM-XX, where MM is 16,62,61 or 63)

can't see the number only something that looks like 2 or 3

both use the same bios. get the file from the link given in the previous post, unpack it and flash the board. if you need more help post here or email me. In Dutch if you have to...

handled by email, backup goed OK but flash gives weird error message:
"flash failed oem-string not supported"
I've asked to check if the flash protection is disabled (as these chipset have that option).

hi

im able to update the bios but i have some question's

im using awdflash7.76 when i load the binfile

VI0306SX.bin than come's a message save oldbios
i did

than came this message :

Checksum : E993H
and below

Are you Sure to program ?

Y / N

is it safe or don't ?

PS:

i have dowloaded a bios from the website from pcpartner (old-site)

than comes the message :

The program file's partnr Does not match with your system!

Are you Sure To program Y / N
