not fully aspi compliant

Im trying to install win xp on a pII, I get a blue screen saying this computer is not fully aspi compliant and recomends a bios update.
Bios ID string is:
02/12/1999 i440lx-w977-2a69jg0oc-00

any help would be much appreciated :P

ACPI not ASPI

Looks like a Gogabyte mainboard of the GA686LX series - please have a look at your board as Gigabyte boards are clearly marked usully between the PCI slots .

If you find the you have the latest BIOS, make sure you are cold booting to the Windows setup CD. I have occassionally found Windows setup to blue screen after a warm boot, meaning something is probably not initialising properly.
