On my ASUS P4-TE board w/ 1.8 P4, i noticed that the clock multiplier setting in bios isnt selectable no more its just sitting at 18. I upgraded from the award bios v.1005 to v.1006 but no change. even when the jumpemode setting is turned off i cant adjust the clock multiplier. Does that mean i have a locked CPU, but i could've sworn it was adjustable past 18. any suggestions or other tests i should perform ? thankyou..
All Intel CPUs are multiplier-locked since Pentium II. Except for the Engineering Samples.

then how is everyone changing their settings to overclock their computers ?
The "secret" is to change the bus frequency (FSB).
