Dear BIOS Gurus,

I'm trying to connect a 80GB IBM Deskstar (IC35L080...) to a Tyan Titan Turbo AT2 (S1571) mobo.
Tyan offers v1.06 at ftp://ftp.tyan.com/BIOS/tx als their last official update but flashing this release doesn't fix the 32/64 GB bug.
Following your link to Scott Holland's S1571 page it seems there is a patch that adds support for faster CPUs but not for large HDDs.
At the moment I'm using Ontrack's Disk Manager as a workaround but would prefer to finally get rid of it...
BTW: Setting the 32 GB Clip Jumper on the drive prevents the BIOS from locking.

BIOS Date: 08/20/98
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG, Tyan Titan Turbo V1.06 082098
BIOS ID: 08/20/98-i430TX-2A59IT5AC-00

I'd appreciate any help.
TIA!

Joe

Hey, you guys are frightening fast... :D

Received your patch, flashed BIOS, Auto-Detected HDD without locking, everything's just fine till now - problem solved, I guess.
MS fdisk only reports ~12.7 GB but that seems to be a known bug. Will use some other partitioning tool instead.

MS should have an updated Fdisk - try windowsupdate .
Or get Fdisk from WinME .
Fdisk has only problems displaying the correct size but if you use percentages to partition the drive the size will be correct .
