Hi.

The only information on my mainboard is "486-VC-H". I can´t find anything about it. Can somebody help?

Motherboard model 486-VC-H, features:
o Intel 486 DX33 CPU
o 256K cache
o 64K user-friendly Award BIOS
o 6 ISA bus slots
o OMB RAM expandable to 32MB in 8 30-pin SIMM slots
o 2/3 Baby AT size

Chipset: VIA 495 (VT 82C495 og VT82C481)
Bios: Award (v. 4.2) 486DX FO561905

Possibly SYM-SL82C491/49 // WINBOARD SYMPHONY 492

Maybe Abit or FIC.
Flash your BIOS at your own risk.

It's FIC board. IIRC, we have one at work. First with i486DX/50 CPU, now with ST 486DX2/80.

Thanks so far.
Is there any chance to get a BIOS update?

1) I doubt there was ever one released
2) I doubt this board has a flash rom
3) Your best bet would be emailing FIC tech support, but be aware they might be surprised they ever made this board.

In short: very little chance.

The BIOS is non-flashable (UV EPROM). The board we have at work has the old-style Award BIOS which lists all POST operations on blue background.
