BIOS_Patcher was tested with hundreds MB (without exaggeration), including with HDD 120Gb. You can ask me about patcher - i shall try to answer here.
p.s. sorry for my bad english.

What would you do if we came to your forum (if you got one that is) and posted our version all over the place? It might be a good patcher, it's the way you are forcing it up on us without giving us a chance to test it properly.

That looks very interesting, but trying to patch ABit PH5 BIOS:
D:\Hardware\ROM>bp-4rc71.exe ph5_d9.bin
BIOS_Patcher ver. 4.0_RC.7.1 from "Second_Hope utils".
Warning! It is only test-version and recommended only for power-users!

Found 1Mbit BIOS!
error - cant find start.modul!error!

if you can`t see all messages - choose 80x50 mode or run with ">report.txt".

Thanks for "bug-report". ;) fixed - http://rom.by/Award/patcher/bp-4rc8.rar
It`s very-old P1 BIOS, which can`t working with HDD>8Gb. BIOS_Patcher can`t add "big"-HDD Support for MB support only HDD<8Gb (must be >8Gb)

I think there should have been a "" there....the website claims that it can add better CPU support and fixes the frequency and size display, as well as offering some sort of dual-BIOS mode. I was hoping that it used a new Int 13H handler to extend BIOSes with the 8 GB limit.

New Int13h hander? Is it compatible with all OSs? I remember that Windows 9x are not very happy when Int13h is chained to another handler (results in MS-DOS compatibility mode).

I'd be interested in the AMD K6-2/III+ support, if it can really do this successfully.

BIOSMan and I have had a setback with my DFI patching...to think a program could do this sucessfully would be interesting I think. We still can't find the bug which causes the hang during POST with the L1 enabled in the BIOS, and we are now adding some text "flags" to see where in the POST it actually has problems.

Large HD support has been added, but it uses a seperate sub-routine as there is no room for the "standard patch".

AWD64GB did not patch that successfully?

No, it seems it does not have a new Int13h handler. (I meant new rather than chained - bypass the old code).

As to it is practically same (and in what there can be differences if not to adding "new" int13h).
And about the program (BIOS Patcher) I have written not with a view of self-advertisement, and with the purpose to tell about the "automatic" utility, allowing to add support not only the "big"-disks, but also and protsessors etc.

Who is "we" and where is your utility?

Does wimbios.com have a utility, or have they tested any utility, to fix the 64GB Award bug? I couldn't find one on the site.

On my BIOS, apple_rom's utility could not find the section that needed to be fixed for the "big" hard drive support.

I should add that I've solved my hard drive issue and answered my questions in another thread here so, I'm just posting my result with the utility, not saying that I still have a problem that needs attention.

Most likely because it is already supporting large disks (it should, based on the release date).
