hello,
my bios string is listed for a vxpro II motherboard:

51-0122-001437-00111111-071595-UT801X-001_10_UTRON_F

using this string, i found an update, (0807S.ROM) for what i thought to be an M570 motherboard. i tried to upgrade using 0807S.ROM with AMIFL632 from a floppy. it appeared to be successful, however; when i rebooted, the pc rebooted to a black screen and the monitor apparently was getting on signal. i am afraid i have ruined the board, and i would appreciate help in verifying any errors i have made.

thank you for any help.

You flashed the wrong BIOS. It's NOT M570, it can be M558 or M559 or M592. Go to PC Chips Lottery http://go.to/th2, in the DON'T KNOW section.

thanks, i did use that page you told me about, and found it to be an m559. now that i have flashed the wrong bios, where do i go from here? should i start my searches for a new board on ebay? heh. im not sure i have the tools to remove the bios chip. if there are any online guides, please point me in the direction of them.

thanks

If you have another board with the same kind of flash bios chip you have the hardware, using uniflash you have the software, performing a hotflash is something Rainbow can tell you everyting about.
