Hi all!
I read in different NG (asus) and forums(ga586hx.de) that 64MB PCI graphiccard are not supported by some HX Boards (maybe other boards too).
I heard also there is a Bug in the BiosCore, the Bios could not initialize the framebuffer.
Or is this a problem with real hardware voltages, regulators ..?
Any informations by anybody?

Again,
I recived an e-mail (german)
habe Problem mit meinem GA586TX3 Board.
Meine neue Grafikkarte (ATI RADEON 7500, 64 MByte DDR RAM, PCI 2.1) will
von meinem BIOS nicht erkannt werden.
Nach dem Computerstart gibt mein Computer nur 2 Piepstöne von sich
(
GA586TX3 did not work with a ATI RADEON 7500, 64 MByte DDR RAM, only 2 short beeps. Other Graphiccards work.
Could it be a Bios Problem or is this a Hardwareproblem (low voltage on the Board)
Ideas?

And some news from the asus NG
Not quite the same, but my TX97-XE will work with a 64 MB PNY GF2 MX400. It will not however work with any 64 MB GF4 MX or any 64 MB Radeon 7500.
The difference I could see between the the various 64 MB cards was that the GF2 MX400 had 8 8MB chips, the GF4 MXs had 4 16MB chips, and the Radeon 7500s had 2 32MB chips. I'm not sure why that would make a difference, but it's a possibility I guess.

The post to the ASUS newsgroup on the TX97-XE was mine.
I did not try the PCI card as a 2ndary card in an AGP system. I did try them as the primary display device in a an AGP capable Super7 motherboard (Epox MVP3G5) to see if they were okay, and they worked fine.
Both systems had 350W power supplies.

Some facts:
GA 586 TX3 Bios-Date 08/14/1998
Asus TX97-XE Bios-Date 11/24/1998
Epox MVP3G5 Bios-Date 12/21/2000
I have only the code for Award 1999 (i810), in the source I have no found a Bugreport, but I searched not so long
And:
Gigabyte has special Bios version for their own Graphiccard:
