Hi
my 80 GB hard drive isn't recognized
this is an epox motherboard P55-VX ( and not the P55-TV they both have the same Id)

the bios can be found here
ftp.epox.com /motherboard/support/BIOS/vx032497.exe

i've learning a lot of things with your website,
but i've a question, i'd like to speed up the boot process,
is it possible to complety disable the test memory with a bios modification ? :?:

thanks :)

That BIOS is not patchable - supports HDDs only up to 8.4GB.
However, there's a BETA BIOS:
08/22/97-i430VX-W877-2A59GPA9C-00
(2a59gpa9) EVALUATION ROM - NOT FOR SALE

It seems to support HDDs up to 32GB - if it really does, it can be patched to support HDDs up to 128GB.

Patched BIOS sent. Please try if it detects the drive correctly not only in BIOS but also run FDISK and look there. This is needed because some of these old i430FX and i430VX BIOSes show full HDD capacity in BIOS but support in fact up to 8.4GB only - can be seen in FDISK.
