I have a Pentium III 450 with BIOS 1.02.
It also reads on the screen Award plug and play BIOS Extension V 1.0A.
The string is: 02/03/1999-i440ZX-W83977-2A69KB3KC-00
I try to install a 80 G Hard drive as a master. But the BIOS can't identify it.
The board is manufactured by BCM, but their web site does not apparently have any update BIOS information.
Could you give me some advice? Thanks
PS. How can I find a CLJ jumper, it didn't come with the hard drive.
80GB: 02/03/1999-i440ZX-W83977-2A69KB3KC-00
The board is a DR738_IN440ZX (GVC/BCM).
We have a patched release for the BCM IN440ZX here:
http://wims.rainbow-software.org (supports HDDs upto 128GB).

Hi all,
I have successfully updated the bios of my PIII 450 computer. Many thanks to all the people who helped me, especialy to ajzchips who kindly found out the mother board type and provided the new BIOS for me. Here is the sum. of my experience.
My problem was that the old BIOS system can't recognize the new 80G HDD. I searched the website of BCM, and I couldn't find a updated BIOS. So, I posted my problem on this forem, and I got ajzchps's reply. I downloaded the award flasher and new BIOS from this website and flash the new BIOS in. Done! Now I have a brand new 80G HDD on my computer now.
Dav.
