Sometimes just after I install new memory, I get a blank screen when I boot, sometimes with beeping, sometimes without. This happens even if I first set the BIOS to use SPD and the slowest memory timings. The memory and other hardware are fine.
But if I hit the reset button every few seconds, the computer will eventually boot OK. Does this mean that the BIOS tries different memory parameters on each boot until a successful boot occurs?
What does a BIOS do at boot-up?

Either a problem with the new Ram and your mainboard or your PSU has some problems to feed all your components with enough power at boot-up
