Hi!

Just finished putting together Abit KD7-RAID /Athlon XP2800+ based box.

TWIN MOS PC3200 512 MB (running at 166FSB speed because of processor FSB spec).

350W Super Flower twin fan PSU.

Upgraded BIOS to DN (newest) to support XP2800+.

Cold boot and (mostly) reboot works fine but warm reboot (CTRL/ALT DEL), or F10 / esc from bios gives a black screen. I hear cdrom clicking (no matter what boot order is selected) but no beep or screencard bios display on screen. Have cabinet display of cpu temp which shows temerature rising to around 50 deg. C (higher than when running OS), indicating CPU activity.

Using reset button on cabinet usually gives success and I can boot, but sometimes several attempts are necesary.

Have tried changing screen card.

I have invalidated the warranty by exchanging the norhbridge fan for a soliid heatsink (due to noise issues). Both northbridge and cpu temp are OK (around 40 deg C for northbrige and usually under 40 for cpu surface under low-load in OS W2K/Linux.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Any add-on cards? Looks like you have one with a soft-reboot problem.

The only add-on card is the screencard (abit Siluro Geforce 4MX 64MB 8XAGP), chose Abit to avoid compatiblility problems. Have also tried a noname Geforce 2 with the same results.
