I have been going out of my mind trying to track down a BIOS upgrade for my Acer Aspire 7100 w/ V66M motherboard so that I can install Windows 2000. I have been to all of the Acer sites and all over the net and have come up empty.

Any help appreciated.

I had already found these files but am not sure how to use them. I know I need to use a boot diskette and some version of the Aflash utility but am not sure what version or what the correct syntax and procedure should be.

Given the fact that a bad flash will turn the thing into junk I'm being extra careful.

BIOS files are fed into a tool, which writes them into the bios chip on the board.

There is a "sticky" posting right here in this group. This will guide you to a description, how to...

You may also wish to take a glance at your manual, maybe Acer websites as well as additional docs and software, which came with the PC.
