:oops:

OK, I eventually took the courage and flashed the bios. everything seemed to OK until it started to reboot.
After the memory check there is a long pause and then I get Pri HDD error message appears and ask me to go into set up. Press F1 to resume.

The trouble is I can't get past this point. Pressing F1 nothing happens, Pressing DEL on restart again has no effect. It carries on checking the ram and again comes back to HDD error message.

How do I get past this? I have ( I think) managed to save the the old bios. Can revert back to it and How?

Have you cleared CMOS after flashing BIOS?
Go into SETUP and set HDD paramters manually (16383 cylinders, 16 heads and 63 sectors per track).

Problem resolved.
Cleared the CMOS on the motherboard and rebooted. Both HDDs recognised.
