Motherboard identifying

Hello,

I have this motherboard on which I have a Pentium S 60Mhz
with this ID number

07/13/94-Opti-596/546/82-2a5uis20-00

according to the information here it should be a Soyo motherboard
with the 596/546/82 chipset

on the motherboard there is also a label with '029B2'

I've allready looked on the soyo website but don't seem to find a bios for this MB

Is there a character missing somewhere in 2A5UIS20 ? I can believe that there is not, as the IDs on some Soyo boards apparently were one character short.
What message do you get in the top left of the memory count screen, under the Award logo ?

029B2 is a valid Soyo model number. Hunting...

Empty. Absolutely zilch. Make sure you keep the manual in a safe place, make a backup of your bios and keep the board even after it has died, you have a rare piece of history there.

..and please send a zipped copy of the BIOS to edwin, and if you can put the manual through the scanner... edwin, does this make it likely it's an OEM board ?

Euh seem to have a small problem here

Several weeks ago I tried to make a small linux router with this motherboard, at a certain time it refused to startup whatever I did, so I thought it was dead, really was a pitty and I did trow all the old stuff that was on it away (isa network cards, IO card for diskdrive and harddisk and printerport and so one) but I kept the motherboard, later on I removed it from it's case and tried it again and it worked again

I don't have a manual for it as I got it from a friend and I'm not able to give you the bios also as I don't have diskaccess which really sucks, I should find a IO card first. Damm

A Pentium MB with VLB

Quite rare, aren't they?
I used to have one of these, too. But mine was an Edom MP039 (can send a copy of the BIOS image if somebody wants it).

Nice to see another Socket 4 board. I have one made by PC Chips, I've also managed to get a Pentium 60 CPU for it and it works too

It has ALi chipset remarked to FuguTech, there are only PCI and ISA slots. BIOS is in EPROM - not flashable - same as your board.
