You will get a warning message regarding the BIOS ID mismatch. Just ignore it.

I've got the bios image from jamicon but it has the 32Gb problem also, however it recognizes
the disk.
I saw the fastfame site but they have a version made in the year 2000, so, prior to jamicon version that I've got.

Is any version that lets recognize more than the 32Gb limit?

I think I patched that a while back....let me check....
The one I patched is a 1999 Jamicon 650B BIOS from nix.ru.

02/04/1999-i440BX-19980205C-00
Release 19990205-0

If there is a 2002 BIOS 1.50 around it should support HDD >32GB. Fastfame site now only lists 1.32
Can you post your BIOS ID string etc ?

Fastfame China has a 650BX 2 Mbit BIOS 1.40:

09/25/2001-i443BX-W977TF-650BX_14C-00
Release date:2001/09/25 Ver:1.40
which looks surprisingly different.

There's more than one version and there are 1mbit and 2mbit versions. They are NOT interchangeable.

Yes, but I had to reset the bios because it asked for a password.
However, I can only use 32Gb of the disk.

OK, I will check if that is patchable.
[edit]
BIOS ID string: 09/25/2001-i443BX-W977TF-650BX_14C-00
BIOS OEM string: Release date:2001/09/25 Ver:1.40
INT13h Extensions...Present: new-style
=> BIOS already supports HDDs over 32GB!
Searching for size calculation routine...is already OK
Searching for SETUP size calculation routine...is already OK
BIOS already supports HDDs over 32GB & 64GB - Nothing to do!
So it's already OK. Now you need to check other things.
If the boot-up configuration display shows it as 32GB, check you don't have the 32GB limit jumper on your drive, then check the drive type and mode settings in the CMOS setup are set to "Auto/Auto" or "Auto/LBA".
If the boot-up configuration display shows full size, check that you have a recent version of FDISK which supports >32GB.

Thanks a lot, the bios now recognizes the full disk dimensions.

What happened is that after updating the bios, I removed the limitating jumper. However the metalic part of the jumper had separated from the rest
when I pulled it out. I only noticed that the metalic part had stayed behind when I had a closer look to the jumper settings.

Sorry for the extra work!
