I'm trying to add a 120GB HDD (ST3120022A) on a MATSONIC MS7090S board. The drive works fine with the 32 GB jumper on.
I can't find any upgrade anywhere... help needed...

Here is the BIOS Agent output:

Program: esupport.com BIOS Agent Version 3.21
BIOS Date: 02/08/1999
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID: 02/08/1999-i440LX-MS7090S0C
OEM Signe-On: MS7090S Ver 1.3c 02/08/1999
Chipset: Intel 440EX/LX rev 3
Superio: Unknown
OS: WinXP
CPU: INTEL(R) CELERON(TM) 466 Mhz MAX 433 Mhz
BIOS ROM In Socket: Yes
BIOS ROM Size: 256K
Memory Installed: 128 MB
Memory Maximum: 96 MB
Memory Slot 01: 64 MB
Memory Slot 02: 64 MB

Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Latest "pure" Matsonic BIOS is here:
http://www.matsonic.com.tw/chi/update.htm#ms7090s

06/16/1999-i440EX-P6EXP-MeC-00
MS7090S 06/16/1999

Funny it has en ECS-style BIOS ID string....
Looks like the P6EXP-Me board...

....checking.....

http://www.ecs.com.tw/download/dw_spec. ... uct_id=249

Your BIOS release date is exactly the same as ECS's latest, so Matsonic's is more recent.

You'll find the patched version you need here:

http://wims.rainbow-software.org/ajz/

It's based on the latest available one at Matsonic's site. If you have trouble with it, we may try patching the ECS version which is your exact same release.

Thanks a lot for your help! The BIOS Patched version turned out to work perfectly, I only had a few problems with the OS, but nothing important.

Thank you again.

Great. Could you please specify what kind of OS problems? Didn't have them before?

At the first boot I simply couldn't use the disk manager to create partitions (I couldn't see the disk) and then the disk manager freezed. I restarted the computer and it was OK.
One more thing : I didn't take precaution when I removed the 32Gb jumper (I had declared my disk with it before and didn't remove it before restarting with a 120Gb disk), so the problem is perhaps no very significant ?...

If you leave the 32GB clip on and use the drive as 120GB, then the disk manager is still active.
