Does anyone know if the bios update at Fastfame China...
650BX 2 Mbit BIOS 1.40: http://www.fastfame.com.cn/HOME/BIOS/IN ... 40.bin.rar
09/25/2001-i443BX-W977TF-650BX_14C-00
Release date:2001/09/25 Ver:1.40

solves the problem of single-sided 256MB SDRAM chips being recognized? I have a stick of single-sided and it only recognizes 128MB. Someone mentioned updating the BIOS would solve this problem.

Any ideas? I don't want to update the BIOS unless this is solved.

Single sided 256MB module will not work on most older chipsets like i440BX. You must use double sided 256MB module.

Sorry NickS.

I posted here because this is the only place I found that dealt with my BIOS upgrade. (03/30/1999-i440bx-19981010c-00 )

I will check the other RAM forum.

Thanks.
