system below doesn't detect 80GB Maxtor HD even after having flashed patch. Hope you can help me.

What are the symptoms ? Hang at "Detecting..." or hang at configuration display screen ?

And you used the BIOS from http://wims.rainbow-software.org/ ?
That has been tested with 60GB but not with >67GB AFAIK
If this is the BIOS you used we will have to try a different patcher for your drive.
