Hi all. Just wanted to say before I begin this site looks like a great resource for all the people in a similar situation to myself. Kudos!!

I am NO expert when it comes to bios and here is a brief description of what's happening:

I got a simple compact flash card reader (USB 1) for my girlfriend who just got a new digital camera. I tried two different brands and I'm getting the same error each time. They both work fine once I've booted the system but if I have the reader plugged in during initial boot before the OS has even started loading it hangs for at least a minute and the keyboard seems inoperational. It's like it's trying to probe the card reader
or something. I looked all over the current bios for a USB Legacy option or something similar and even tried changing USB settings but nothing has worked. I thought I might need to upgrade the bios, but I'm not sure who the motherboard is made by or if I even need to. (Maybe a BIOS setting I'm missing????) I appreciate any help, other than "Just plug it in after Windows has loaded."

Thanks

Jimmy Vegas

1.1g is a Rev 1.x Bios and your board is the older UDMA66 version

PLease try newer VIA drivers from www.viaarena.com
-> 4in1 + USB filter drivers
