my bios and mother board id s they are.are they newest?

and also i bought new combo sm-352b samsung but its read write speed stauck at 40 x.
it is in udma2 33mb mode.
what my motherboard supporting speeds are?
my harddisk are in 100mb mode?
can i make it to 133 mb mode?

i am not sure read write stuck 40 x is because of motherboard bios,firmware,or what?
in normal conditions can i wirte and read 52 x with my motherboard and bios now?

I think you're expecting too much of the i440LX IDE controllers. Chipset limit most likely, and you need recordables that are rated for 52x burning too.

I meant what program are you running that is saying 40X and not 52X...

If both are saying that it's most likely the recordables that are limiting it.

CD/CD-R: CAV 40
so it's running according to the specs from the manual. Nothing wrong with the board, or the CDRW/DVD, or the recordable media. Typical PEBKAC problem if you ask me.
