Hi
Just changed faulty motherboard --fitted new K7S8X and cpu for a friend.
The problem is the machine has a SCSI Yamaha CD/rw connected by ribbon cable to card on PCI slot.
Cannot find SCSI support on Ami Bios. Will SCSI work on this new board.
I am afraid SCSI is new to me.
Thanks

SCSI and AMIBios
If you don't need to boot from a SCSI device, you don't need any support in BIOS. Although any board from around 1998 should support booting from SCSI (provided that the SCSI controller card has its own BIOS).
Patched and tested BIOSes are at http://wims.rainbow-software.org

Halo,
if you need the Boot option, you can extract the option ROM from the old mainboard BIOS - direct from chip or from BIOS file that you can recive over internet. Use cbrom for the old BIOS, if it's from Award (the file call NCR in file name. This file you can add with AMIbcp to new BIOS file and flash this new created file into your FLASH ROM
Good luck
bye, Gerald
