My cd rom is not working, it is not reading any disks what so ever! i have hp pavillion dvd/writer combi it plays dvd disks ok but doesnt play any audio/data/cd rom (games)disks i have called the so called specialists at hp who have advised that as the dvds are workin ok then thee is nothin wrong with the cd rom, but abviously there is, any help would be grately appreciated....i have tried everything from system restore, to driver roll back etc and nothing works ..i was wondering if BIOS(dont know anything about it) would help this in any way???

Reading DVDs doesn't guarantee reading CDs, and viceversa. Something is definitely wrong.
Although possibly useless, you might want to try a firmware update on your combi.
