Hi everybody !

I have an IBM Aptiva 2194-430 , I had search information about Mobo and I found it''s an GIGABYTE GA-6WMMC7 with an IBM Bios.

I would to flash the original GIGABYTE BIOS but I can't , i don't know why .it's an AWARD BIOS so I use AWDflash but when I flash some beep appears.

I have test (open - close) jumper 24 who protect the bios , but it don't change anything ?!?!?

If everyone can help me , thanks a lot !

History lesson, but it might help someone else.

The way to go about this is to find a bios chip from a dead board that matches the size and voltage of the chip on the board. (assuming it's socketed) Then do a hot swap. Loosen the bios chip, boot with the original chip, swap chips, flash the Gigabyte bios. If the Giga bios doesn't work, you can put the original bios chip back in. And I would use Uniflash to do the flashing.
Flashing the original chip might be impossible because IBM has write protections coded in.
so many parts, so little time.....

I'm afraid that the BIOS chip is soldered to the board...as on many newer Gigabyte boards.
