Can you provide a little more info? Is this in a Packard Bell or NEC system, and is MS-6156 VER. 1.0 BX7 printed on the board surface between the two PCI slots next to the ISA slot? Here is a picture of the board:

Download and run BIOS Agent to retrieve the information required:

I too have a problem finding an update for my microstar bios
info: chipset intel 440bx/dx/zx
w6168ms v1.2 111700
msisys 30302e31
i really couldn't find it anywhere... and due to an error with acpi (i have windows xp) my system is "halting" frequently so i can't do anything serious on it...
can anyone help me?

You should start a new topic for your problem - you have a different problem and probably a different main board, although the chipset may be similar.
Looking at the information you posted however I agree that you probably have an MSI board. I went to their website and first time round did not find it. Then I had another look specifically under the Global version of the website and found it here: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/b ... 268&kind=1
If you have anything further to post please start a new topic for your problem, and also ask any questions there if you are unsure that this is the correct BIOS for your board.
