Pheonix Award flashing console keeps freezing

i have a abit ic7 max-3 with a P4 3.4 and my temps are way too high even with upgraded fans and paste..so im thinking its my BIOS plus my last update was 2 years ago..lol.....so i've been trying to update..i format a floppy non-startup, and throw the BIN file and awdflash.exe and i restart my computer and press alt-F2 to flash the bios, it reads the floppy and the console comes up but it seems to be frozen and i can't type anything or ctrl-alt-del to restart so i figure its tottaly frozen...am i doing something wrong?

Did the BIOS make any difference to your temps - I would be surprised if it did?
