Hello, I'm new in this forom, my English isn't very good but I look forward to understand us.

BIOS Date : 01/01/00
BIOS OEM Signon : W6156VF1 V2.3 040500
BIOS ROM Size : 256K
Chipset : VIA 82C691 rev 68
Super I/O Chip : Winbond 83977EF found at port 3F0h

Whithout more ado, I explain yoy my small problem.
----
I bought a Hard Disc Western Digital of 200Gb capacity. I have a motherboard MS-6156VA and not recognized the hard disc. If I enter to the Bios, and I try detect manually the HD, the computer bloqs.
I try update my BIOS, but the Updates that I saw in Internet was very ancient, of the year 2000 more or less. Doy you think that this update will be available for my HDD? I believe that not.
Anyone knows another way to install it?
Forgive for my English
Regards and thank you a lot of beforehand.

There you'll find your MS-6156VA (Fujitsu OEM) -Bios patched to support HDD up to 128GB. This Bios will support capacity up to 128GB - all above is accessible with W2K/SP4, XP/SP1 or Linux

With Win98 you can only use up to 128GB unless VIA has a new IDE-driver supporting big HDD with 48Bit LBA-adressing.
If not you're limited to 128GB - do not try to access an area above 128GB !

Win98 relies on what the Bios detects. With the Bios detecting 128/137GB this is what Win98 is able to use.
